(Mis)information is more than power: Is profitable

Sometimes, we convince ourselves that our choices are not important, and that a little lie can harm anybody.

But when you are a mediocre reporter struggling for fame in the early 80s, you can end up as puppet of political and religious powers.

Your choices as a reporter manipulating information and changing the story for the sake of the powerful, not only gets your career up to heaven, but also condemns some innocent people to hell.

...The controversy regarding the Bishop of The Church of The Witnesses continues. Today, another body was found, supposedly a suicide as police has initially reported...

Ten years later, you made an appointment to interview a major witness of the investigation.

But you fell asleep while waiting for the meeting in a motel room and now the phone wakes you up to end up discovering the witness didn't show up.

It's time to figure what's going on...

Main Goal

Retrieve what the witness has stored in the room's safe: It's the only way out.

Gameplay tips

This is kind of "narrative-driven high-concept demo", so, as the story and the gameplay hints are imbued into the literary texts, I highly recommend to read them as calm as possible.

About the demo

Welcome! My name is Vic Franco and I'm a Narrative and Game Designer from Granada, Spain.

This demo is a ~vertical slice~ of a project currently on hold. It started as a I+D project for my former job, but it scaled really quickly into a personal project -and also, became some sort of a white whale for me. After some time, I decided to pack together the most significant content  to ship a little demo :)

Regarding the cut content, if you finish the demo, you'll watch a teaser showing some of the prototyped mechanics and puzzles -yay!

Needless to say, comments are welcome. As such as bug reports: feel free to talk about the game feel, refferences, aesthetics or just about performance issues. However, as long as the feedback is aimed for a critical role seeking real and argumented improvements :)

Now, let's play the thing!

Its Really cool, the Menu its so intense and aesthetic, i like that a lot and the typewriter animation is so inmersive when a line from the text is complete.

It looks with potencial to do a Psychological terror/ puzzles game.

Its just a demo but it was so easy for me, only that.

Thanks! I've been thinking a lot about the proper game feel regarding the *grunge* aesthetic and I'm glad to know I'm doing mostly right hehe

Also, I'm happy to know that the puzzle is turn out intuitive and fair -or, as you pointed, "easy" :P

I really enjoyed your demo. Great mood! It's palpable your narrative background. I think the amount of time to resolve the puzzles are well balanced, not frustating at all.
